Repeat

There are no words left

My voice is silenced

No one left to talk to

Your voice is something I dont want to forget

I lye awake before the sun comes up
and listen to your messages

Fighting tears. I am comforted by the sound

Ive always remained strong
but my weakness is something I can not hide any longer.

I dont care what people think

I am human

You are my mother

I promise to live a life that will make you proud

I will make a difference as you did

There is a legacy to uphold

This is what will fuel my ambition

This is what I will live for

One day I will die alone but I know you will be right there waiting

to grab my hand and lead me

Secret Squirrel

Who gets a squirrel as a pet? I have been asking myself this question since New Years Eve.

My friend's significant other Eric. Thats who! Let me rewind to the day before when I spoke to my Nuremberg Chum Chasity for over an hour. No mention of a new pet!

We mostly gathered our thoughts and made plans on when to meet, what kind of keg to get, and guests who would be attending the lil shindig down in the boonies. She passed office gossip and local as well. Vice Versa.

Fast Forward New Years Eve. D & I arrive promptly at 7:30pm. The Beer Distributor closing around 8pm. Chas wanted me to come grab the keg with her for the party but didn't show up til 8pm. We just sat in my car, snow falling, waiting for her arrival home.

We walk into the house and D & I immediately fix our eyes on the corner of the room. There is some kind of floor to ceiling cage. Mostly made of 2x4's and what looked to be chicken wire. Inside there were some branches set up like perches & wood chips and excelsior lying on the floor of the cage.

D turns to me and raises his brows. I was like What's in there? I could only think possibly a bird? or a really huge snake? Chas's other half replies "Dont get close, there is an enraged monkey and he will bite your face off" D & I give each other a look. Chas says, "NO! It's the Squirrel"

I'm like a ..."WHAT? "

In reply she goes "Yea I told you" I was like "No you did not! An hour long convo and you failed to mention you had a wild rodent living in your house!"

I said...Well, Where is it? She said "Oh lying under it's blanket". I said "you mean the dirty towel?" (ha) Eric proceeds to come over with a can of trailmix banging on the chicken wire calling "Hunter" the squirrel to come out and say Hello.

Well... this thing came out with a vengeance. It started jumping/flying from side to side. It was making all sorts of growls and squeaky noises. Eric says "Oh - he is pissed I woke him up".

Shhhyeaa, no kidding Pal!!! When Hunter calmed down I went over and began making churping, clicky noises and in reply, Everytime, I received a growl in response. AHH!

Now, I ask the question Who Gets A "SQUIRREL" As a Pet? Its insane!! Chas did not seem keen about it. I think Eric would have a freaking Mountain lion if he could. Did I mention they have a pitbull named Kano who kept hanging around the squirrel? Probably hoping it would get loose, so he could snap its lil furry neck and use it as a chew toy.

Here is a snapshot of the lil rodent...ugh!

Honestly, I do love animals, but squirrels and any kind of rodent I can do with out ever seeing or hearing about. Let alone have as pets. YUCK! So, maybe when I say I love all animals its a bit of an exaggeration.

I may sound a lil harsh...besides Eric exclaimed " He can be a cool lil guy when he wants to be"

Umm, shhyeaa, RIGHT!

Garlic. Not just a vampire repellent

I recently packed up and moved out of New York
to the State of Independence, Pennsylvania.

Quite fitting for someone like me. I've always strived for my own independence. I like the peace and quiet it has to offer. I had some nay sayers (mostly my mom) when I announced the news. She was trying to take bets. She said she was certain I would get bored and move back within 3mths. It's been a month so far and I can't say I will ever get bored & move back home to NY.
I think I was homesick for the first couple of weeks.

I found a great job working with some interesting & friendly people. I must say that so far... sooo, soooo good!

I have been researching and surveying the area to find out from locals what the thing to do is here. I have had many great responses and lots of feedback. From Restaurants, Spooky Haunted places, Campgrounds, Civil War re-enactments, and much much more.

As a matter of fact, A woman I work with attends these Civil War re-enactments.
Her husband acts as a soldier.
I am awaiting info on the next event. I think it would be fun

Which now brings me to...
A festival filled with live entertainment, crafts, lots of food and huge amounts of wait for it...

GARLIC.
All of which is grown right here in Pa.

I am told I can find everything my heart desires from garlic dip to roasted pig. I hear the crafts are quite interesting (over 50 vendors). Who doesn't want hollowed out garlic wind chimes?! They even have garlic soap. It's a bit much, b/c quite frankly, I haven't heard about the local vampires that need warding off, just yet.

The first thing I do is call up my favorite cousin (who, like me loves garlic) and propose a trip to this Everything Garlic festival. She jumped right on board!

It takes place Sept 5-6 in the Shawnee Mountain Area.

I look forward to spending some much needed quality time and coming home with Memories that will last a lifetime.

See Mom! I am not going stir crazy living in a secluded cabin in the woods. I am going to The Pocono Garlic Festival.

If anyone is interested in this event go here...and check it out!

Not only does garlic repel vamps, but if you read this article you can find out all about the the benefits garlic has to your health.

Be sure to keep your tongue scraper at hand & a sprig of fresh parsley in your pocket!

Sunday Morning Funny

Some people read the newspaper funnies (ya know, the comic strips) to find laughter on a lazy Sunday morning.
I wake to my comedian boyfriend lying beside me singing.

I don't know what makes me so lucky to have found such a half as funny as I.

It's about 8:30am and I awake to him singing a song I never heard and it went a lil something like this:

"I talk to myself, cause there is no one to talk to. People ask me, why? Why I do what I do"

The tears. I cannot even explain. I lye there laughing. I say Babe, where did you come up with that one?
He replies, Bobby Brown.

So of course I have to google Bobby Brown and see for myself. Totally sounds like something he might sing. However, I was very unsure of this information. I really thought my other half was making it up.
Maybe a dream he had.

This is what I found...NOTHING!

Now fast forward to Monday afternoon in work. I am sitting at my workstation, gathering up the usual Monday morning reports (it takes some time) while listening to 90's grunge through one earphone.
I look over to my right and see my co-worker talking to herself (an everyday occurrence).
Suddenly the above lyrics pop into my mind and I burst out laughing. My co-worker and new friend looks over at me, giggling & says "There is something seriously wrong with you!"

In an attempt to prove I was not insane I googled this Bobby Brown tune, yet again! This is what I found:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq4Sk6wvWyM&feature=PlayList&p=CA86900E7A34353B&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=88

I find it hysterical.

A. My boyfriend had this stored somewhere in his memory only to be unleashed randomly one Sunday Morning.

B. That it is not even Bobby Brown but set to the tune of My Perogative.

C. It came to mind while in work & made me seem a lil unusual to my new co-workers

However, not as crooked as it actually is to physically see someone talking to themselves.

Every time I see someone mumbling to themselves I am sure this song will pop into mind.
